Cloud-managed networking

Cisco Meraki

Simple, powerful, cloud-managed networking. One dashboard across every site.

Kootechnikel designs and operates full Meraki networks β€” security appliances, switches, wireless, cameras, and environmental sensors β€” all managed from a single cloud dashboard we monitor on your behalf.

MX, MS, MR, MV, MT, MG, Systems Manager β€” every device in every site lives in one dashboard. Zero-touch provisioning: ship to site, claim serial, come online with policy pre-applied.

What it is

Cisco Meraki is the cloud-managed networking division of Cisco, and the reference architecture for SMB and mid-market cloud-managed networks. Every Meraki device β€” from the smallest access point to a multi-site SD-WAN appliance β€” is configured and monitored through a single web console, the Meraki Dashboard. There is no controller to build, no command-line to maintain, and firmware, configuration, and security updates are pushed centrally.

The product lines are all letter-prefixed and map cleanly to a function: MX is the security and SD-WAN appliance family (stateful firewall, IPS, content filtering, AutoVPN site-to-site, cloud-managed SD-WAN); MS is the switching line (access and aggregation switches, including Layer 3 and multi-gig PoE); MR is the Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E/7 access point line; MV is the smart-camera line with on-camera AI analytics and cloud-archived video; MT is environmental sensors (temperature, humidity, water, power, door); and MG is the cellular gateway line for LTE / 5G WAN backup or primary connectivity.

Systems Manager is the Meraki MDM product that manages laptops and mobile devices from the same dashboard. Meraki has been increasingly positioned under Cisco's SASE umbrella, with Umbrella DNS-layer security and ThousandEyes observability integrated.

Key capabilities

  • Single-pane Meraki Dashboard

Every MX, MS, MR, MV, MT, MG, and Systems Manager device in every site is configured and monitored from one cloud console.

  • Meraki MX with Advanced Security

Stateful firewall, Snort-based IPS, AMP malware protection, content filtering, and geo-IP blocking on every edge appliance.

  • Cloud-managed SD-WAN via AutoVPN

Zero-touch site-to-site VPN meshing and dynamic path selection between sites and to the cloud.

  • MR Wi-Fi 6 / 6E / 7 APs

Enterprise-grade wireless with auto-RF optimization, Air Marshal WIPS, and integrated location analytics.

  • MS switching with cloud stacking

Layer 2/3 switching, multi-gig and PoE+ options, virtual stacking, one-click firmware management.

  • MV smart cameras with edge AI

Cloud-archived video with on-camera object detection, motion search, and zero-trust access without an NVR.

  • MT environmental sensors

Wireless sensors for server-room temperature, water leaks, door open/close, and power draw, alerting into the same dashboard.

  • Zero-touch provisioning + MSP portal

Devices ship directly to site, claim by serial in the dashboard, come online with policy pre-applied. MSP Portal gives us cross-tenant visibility.

Who it’s for

  • Multi-site SMBs and mid-market firms (retail, professional services, real estate, construction) that need consistent network policy across 2–50 locations.
  • Organizations without a full-time network engineer on staff β€” Meraki is designed to be operated, not hand-configured.
  • Clients who need video surveillance, environmental monitoring, and networking under one vendor, one console, and one support contract.
Integrations

Tight integration with Cisco Umbrella (DNS-layer security), Cisco ThousandEyes (WAN observability), Cisco Duo (MFA / zero-trust access), and the broader Cisco SASE stack. Open API for automation, integrations with SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel), ITSM (ServiceNow), and identity (Entra ID, Okta) for 802.1X / SAML SSO on Wi-Fi.

Partner status & certifications

Cisco 360 Partner Program β€” the current unified Cisco channel program that replaced the previous tier structure β€” with Meraki-specific enablement via the Cloud & Managed Service Program (CMSP) Express track for MSP delivery. Engineering staff hold Certified Meraki Networking Associate (CMNA) plus CCNA-level certifications where applicable.

Pricing model

Per-device hardware plus per-device annual licensing subscription β€” Meraki hardware is non-functional without an active license. Licenses come in Enterprise, Advanced Security, and Secure SD-WAN Plus editions for MX (routing only β†’ + IPS / AMP / content filter β†’ + cloud-delivered SASE). Typically 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10-year terms, which we bundle into a monthly managed-service fee so hardware and operating cost flatten across the term.

Why we chose them

When a client has more than one location, or more than one floor, Meraki starts winning the comparison on the day of deployment and keeps winning every month after. A Meraki network will still be upgradeable and remotely-manageable in five years, which is not something we can say about a closet full of unmanaged switches and a consumer-grade router. Standardizing on Meraki means every client site looks the same to our NOC β€” same dashboard, same alerts, same firmware pipeline, same escalation path into Cisco TAC when something genuinely breaks.

Need Cisco Meraki deployed, operated, or taken off your plate?

One accountable team. One monthly invoice. One escalation path when something breaks at 11pm.
